Whenever you use our online services or applications, we utilize cookies and other tracking technologies (which we will refer to as ‘cookies’ for the purposes of this Cookie Statement).
Cookies can be used in various ways, including the functioning of the BookAndHunt.com website, analyzing traffic, or for advertising purposes.
Below you can read more about what ‘cookies’ are, how they are used, and what options are available to you.

What are cookies and other online tracking technologies?
A web browser cookie is a small text file that websites place in your web browser on your computer or mobile device.
These cookies are used to store information about the content you view and interact with, to save your preferences and settings, or to analyze how you use online services.
Cookies are categorized as ‘first-party cookies’ and ‘third-party cookies’:
First-party cookies are those used by the company that operates the domain on which the cookies are used – in our case, it is BookAndHunt.com. All cookies we set ourselves are considered ‘first-party cookies’.
Third-party cookies are set on our domain by trusted partners that we have chosen to allow to do so. These may include partners on social media, advertising partners, security service providers, and others.
They can also be classified as ‘session cookies’ or ‘persistent cookies’:
Session cookies are only used while your browser is open; they expire once you close it. After that, these cookies are deleted.
Persistent cookies have varying lifespans and stay on your device even after you close your browser. At BookAndHunt.com, we try to use only persistent cookies (or allow third parties to use only persistent cookies) that have a limited lifespan. However, for security reasons or other extraordinary circumstances, it may sometimes be necessary to assign a longer lifespan to cookies.
Browser cookies can store information such as your IP address or other identifiers, your browser type, and details about the content you are viewing and encountering while using digital services. By storing this data, browser cookies can save your preferences and settings for online services and analyze how you use them.
In addition to cookies, we also use tracking technologies that are very similar. Our website, emails, and mobile applications might contain small transparent graphic files or code that records how you use them. This includes ‘web beacons’, ‘scripts’, ‘tracking URLs’, or ‘software development kits’ (known as SDKs).
Web beacons have many different names. They are also known as web bugs, tracking bugs, tags, web tags, page tags, tracking pixels, pixel tags, 1×1 GIFs, or clear GIFs.
In summary, these are small graphic images that are only one pixel in size and are sent to your device as part of a web page, in an app, or within the HTML of an email message.
They can be used to collect data from your device, including the type of device or operating system, IP address, and time of visit. They are also used to read cookies in your browser or to initiate the setting of cookies.
Scripts are small computer programs embedded in our web pages, responsible for several additional functions of the page itself. Scripts enable the proper functioning of the page. For example, scripts provide certain security features and core interactive options on our site.
Scripts can also be used for analytical purposes or advertising. For example, scripts can collect data on how you use our website, such as the pages you visit or what you search for.
Tracking URLs are links that contain unique identification elements. They are used to track the website that brought you to BookAndHunt.com or the app you are using. An example is when you arrive from a social media site, search engine, or one of our distribution partners.
Software development kits (SDKs) are part of the source code of our apps, and unlike cookies in browsers, data from SDKs is not stored in the memory of our apps.
They are used to analyze how apps are used or to send user-specific notifications. To enable this, they record unique identifiers associated with your device, such as device ID and IP address, as well as your activities within the app and your network location.
All these tracking technologies referenced in this Cookie Statement are collectively referred to as ‘cookies’.
How are cookies used?
Cookies are used to collect data, including:
They allow you to be recognized as the same user across all pages within a single website, on multiple devices, across multiple websites, or while using our apps. In terms of purpose, they are categorized into three groups – functional cookies, analytical cookies, and marketing cookies.
Functional cookies: These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of our website and applications and must be enabled for you to use our services.
Functional cookies are used to create technologically advanced websites and applications that automatically adapt to your needs and preferences, allowing you to browse easily and book simply. This also includes enabling essential security and accessibility features.
More specifically, these cookies:
Analytical cookies: These cookies measure and track how our website are used. We use this data to improve our website and services.
More specifically, these cookies:
The data we collect includes information on the websites you have visited, the pages that referred you to our site, as well as the pages you exited from, the platform you used, which emails you opened and acted upon, and the date and time of the visit. This also means we can use data about your usage of the site, such as the number of clicks on a specific page, mouse movement and scrolling on the page, the words you input in the search bar, and the text you enter in various fields.
Marketing cookies: These cookies are used by BookAndHunt.com and our trusted partners to collect information about you over time, across multiple websites, applications, or various platforms.
Marketing cookies help us decide which products, services, and ads based on interests to display both on our website and outside of it.
More specifically, these cookies:
Audience retargeting ads may be displayed to you both before and after you leave BookAndHunt.com, as their purpose is to encourage you to revisit our website. These ads may appear on websites, in apps, or in email messages.
These buttons, such as ‘like’ or ‘share’, function through code provided by the specific social media service providers that allow third-party cookies to be placed on your device.
These cookies can be purely functional, but they can also be used to track the websites you visit from their network, create behavioral profiles of your online browsing, and display personalized ads. This profile may be partially created using comparable information that providers receive during your visits to other websites on their network.
For more information on what social media providers do with your personal data, please refer to their cookie and/or privacy statements: Facebook (which includes Instagram, Messenger, and Audience Network), Snapchat, Pinterest, and Twitter. Please note that these statements may be updated from time to time.
Regarding data collection, we cooperate with reliable third parties. We may also share information with these third parties, such as your email address or phone number. These third parties may combine your data with other data they collect to create a custom audience or deliver targeted ads. For more information on how these third parties process your data, please visit the following links: How Google Uses Data, Facebook’s Data Protection Policy.
Techniques that do not involve cookies – email pixels
We may also use techniques such as pixels, which we do not label as cookies, as they do not store any data on your device.
Occasionally, we use pixels in emails, such as newsletters. A ‘pixel’ is an electronic file of one pixel that is embedded in an email and is loaded when you open it. By using email pixels, we can see whether the message was delivered, if and when you read the message, and what you clicked on.
We also obtain this information from forwarded notifications we send you. These statistics provide us with feedback about your reading behavior, which we use to optimize our messages and make our communication more relevant to you.
What options are available to you?
For more information about cookies or how to manage and delete cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org or the help page within your browser.
In browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, or Chrome, you can choose which cookies you wish to accept and which to reject. The location of these settings depends on the type of browser you are using.
If you choose to block certain functional cookies, you may not be able to use some options of our services.
With certain settings we can provide on the BookAndHunt.com website and in apps, you can also opt-out of specific cookies:
Analytical.
To prevent Google Analytics from collecting analytical data for certain types of browsers, visit the following link: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available for desktop only).
Advertising.
Your mobile device may have an option in its settings to limit data sharing for audience retargeting purposes. If you choose this option, please note that opting-out of an online advertising network does not mean you will no longer see or be the subject of online advertising or marketing analyses. It only means that the network you opted-out of will no longer send you ads tailored to your internet usage or browsing habits.
Some websites have an option for ‘Do Not Track’ that allows you to disable tracking on that website. Currently, we do not support ‘Do Not Track’ browser settings.
