Alaska Yukon Moose Hunting

The Alaska-Yukon moose is the largest moose species, weighing 800 to 1,600 pounds and standing nearly 6 feet tall. Their color ranges from golden brown to almost black, with newborn calves sporting a reddish-brown coat that turns light rust as they grow. Males are recognized by their antlers, which develop in their first year and are regrown each summer. The largest trophy bulls are found in western Alaska, with substantial antlers typically seen in bulls aged 10 to 12, though some can achieve trophy size as young as 6.
