Balearian Goat Hunting
The Balearian Goat, or Balearian Boc, is a domestic goat breed endemic to the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, particularly in the Tramontana range of Mallorca. It is believed that these goats were introduced by the Phoenicians around 2000 B.C. After many generations in the wild, they have adapted well to the rugged terrain. Recognized by the SCI as part of the Capra slam, Balearian Goats are valued for their hardiness, making them suitable for meat and milk production, particularly in local cheese-making. They are social animals, known for their agility and ability to thrive in challenging environments.
