Blackcock Hunting

The Blackcock, or Black Grouse (Tetrao tetrix), is a medium-sized bird found in northern Europe and Asia. It thrives in habitats where forests meet clearings or agricultural areas, avoiding mineral fertilizers. Males are distinguished by their striking black plumage and red wattles, while females are mottled brown for camouflage. They feed on grasses, seeds, and berries and engage in courtship displays at communal leks during breeding season.
