Blesbuck Hunting
The Blesbuck (Damaliscus pygargus) is a medium-sized antelope from South Africa, found in grasslands. It has a slender body, a white blaze on its muzzle, and a dark brown coat. Males have long, curved horns, while females do not. Blesbuck are grazers, primarily eating grass and living in small herds. Males establish territories during mating season. Once only found in South African grasslands, they’ve also been introduced to some regions in Namibia. However, concerns about genetic contamination from crossbreeding with the Bontebok exist. Selective breeding has produced various color variations for hunting. Blesbuck also play a key role in controlling plant growth through grazing.
