Grey Seal Hunting

The grey seal (*Halichoerus grypus*) is a robust marine mammal found in the North Atlantic, with males weighing 600-800 pounds and females 400-600 pounds. Their gray, spotty fur allows them to blend into coastal habitats along the UK, Canada, and the northeastern U.S. They are opportunistic feeders, primarily consuming herring, cod, squid, and crustaceans. Breeding occurs in fall and winter, with females giving birth to a single pup that has a creamy-white coat at birth. Grey seals are powerful swimmers and play a crucial role in marine ecosystems as predators.
