Marco Polo Sheep Hunting

The Marco Polo sheep is a large wild sheep from Central Asia. It is mainly found in the Pamir and Tianshan mountains. Males have impressive spiraled horns that can reach up to 1.5 meters in length. They weigh between 90 and 140 kg. They inhabit elevations of 3,000 to 6,000 meters and feed on grasses and plants. They typically live in herds. Their population is threatened due to habitat loss and overhunting. They are protected in many areas, and conservation efforts are underway to preserve this species.
